Golden Texture

I've decided texture is my favourite of all principles of design. I love the simplicity of how it can change a mood and evoke a new feeling. Texture of wood, fabric, benchtops, furnishings and art are only a few to play with. I'm a fan of designers Hecker and Guthrie and their uncomplicated designs. They are fresh and have a great play on textures.

Mix shiny with rough; mix course with sheer; add a hemp rug or lovely woven basket; add a sculpture or piece of wall art.. the list goes on.  Texture is a gold.

Kauffman House

I have to post this. My inner passion keeps pushing it to the surface. It's the Kauffman house in Palm Spring, designed by Richard Neutra. He really has an eye for design in my opinion. The combination of the stunning pool and the lovely rooftop lounge area create a beautiful lifestyle home.

I'm certainly not the only person to love Richard Neutra's work. This house located at Palm Beach, north of Sydney is also a fan. They used the 'Kauffman house' as inspiration for their gorgeous home. It's called the Walker House.

A fabric crush.

You have to take a look at the fabulous new range of solution dyed fabrics from Mokum. The fabric is suitable for upholstery and drapery both indoors and out. The lovely Lolita from their Sydney showroom was very helpful in showing me the range and all its amazing benefits. It's most certainly on the wishlist for my new banquette seating around the pool. One day soon.
